TCEA is always full of treasures!  Each year I return from this conference with so many new ideas for using technology in core curriculum to engage students.  This year was no exception.  One gem I came across is Kerpoof – by Disney.  Kerpoof is a FREE multimedia software designed to be used in K-8 classrooms.  It requires only a computer with internet access,  no software to download.   Students can use Kerpoof to create: original artwork, storybooks, animated movies, and much, much more!  Students can easily and safely share their creations with their class.   Teachers can sign up for a FREE account to access special features for their classroom. These features  include, the ability to create student accounts, to use features like class message boards, and the ability to monitor and moderate student particiaption.  This program as many classroom  uses that meet the various standards that have been proposed for technology by national and international organizations such as the National Educational Technology Standards for Students.  Many activites are also aligned to the current Texas TEKS.  Take a look at the Kerpoof overview and sign up for your free classroom account today!
